Creating a Sense of Community

Think about popular YouTubers. They all have fanbases, all of which are communities with their own in-jokes who can relate to each other. I believe that is a key to gaining a larger following on YouTube. This helps draw potential fans in. They hear of the in-jokes, see fans talking about the person, and they get curious and check the person out. So, how could we recreate this feeling of family?

Interact with Etho regularly

When a new video is uploaded, make sure to watch the video all the way through and then leave a comment. Maybe constructive criticism, maybe a joke, maybe a suggestion, maybe a question—as long as it's relevant, it helps.

Interact with other subscribers

Read the other comments on the video. Reply to them, carry on with jokes, suggest improvements on a suggestion (suggestception?), as long as it's relevant to the original comment, it helps. Talk with fans on social media—find or start a fan account, maybe.

Talk about Etho on videos similar to his

And I don't mean to completely raid the comment section of some poor creator's video. But if you watch a video and it reminds you of Etho, say so in the comments section. Not only could it draw other fans' attention and create a conversation, but said conversation could also make someone want to check out Etho's channel.

Create fan accounts

And make sure that you talk about Etho on them. Talk about his recent videos, talk about yourself even and personally bond with your fan account's followers. Make friends among Ethos' subscribers and make it more of a community.
